About

Baroque Arabesque skillfully blends a diverse tapestry of European Baroque, oriental music, and Sephardic songs, creating a captivating and varied musical experience.
From this perspective, the ensemble discovers entirely new ways of performing Baroque music. With abundant imagination and vitality, the ensemble wholeheartedly embraces this endeavor which they approach with freshness, creativity and dedication as they explore uncharted musical territories, and breathe new life into the Baroque genre through their fusion with oriental influences.
Baroque Arabesque was founded in 2021 in Vienna by the italian harpsichordist Marinka Brecelj. The ensemble boasts a lineup of exceptionally talented musicians, including the extraordinary Turkish-Kurdish singer, Özlem Bulut, whose captivating vocals add a unique dimension to the ensemble’s performances. Accompanying her are the skilled violinist, Julia Kainz, the rhythmic expertise of Pat Feldner on percussion, and the soulful sounds of Pia Pircher on the viola da gamba.
The ensemble’s recent CD released on Gramola won a nomination for the Classic Music Awards. They recently performed at Konzerthaus Vienna and Antiqua Bolzano among other venues.
