The viola da gamba player Pia Pircher, born in Vienna, is fascinated since her early childhood by sounds and music. She studied at the Royal College of Music London, the Musikhochschule Trossingen and the University Mozarteum. Based on her keen interest for the astatically and philosophical origin as well as the cultural background of arts, Pia completed a doctorate in music and is working regularly with composers. She received several prices and awards for her work.
Pia is performing internationally as soloist at the London Handel Festival, the Queens Gallery London/Buckingham Palace, the Styriarte and Trigonale Testival as well as the Brighton Early Music Festival Live! And the Fringe Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht. Pia was appointed Associate Professor of Music at the American University in Cairo/Egypt.
