Julia Kainz

Julia Kainz grew up in Gmünd, a small town in the north of Austria at the Czech border. There she attended elemantary school and high school as well as music school in the subjects violin, piano and ballet. At an early age she was trained in chamber music and orchestra playing in South – Bohemia. Julia graduated as a Master of Arts in violin and music pedagogy from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where she studied with Prof. Michael Frischenschlager and Prof. Klaus Maetzl. She recieved further training at master classes with Eszter Perenyi and Michail Gantwarg and in early music with Gunar Letzbor, Marianne Rônez and Michi Gaigg. During her studies she took part in national and international competitions and toured Europe’s festivals of classical music with the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester.

Beside playing with chamber music groups and orchestras Julia specialized in performing world music and early music mainly of the Meditaranean Area and Near East, but also of Spain and South America. Another main focus she found in Viennese Music (“Schrammelmusik, Wiener Lied). She has performed in Europe, China, North America and South America.

Julia Kainz is a teacher for violin, piano and childrens’ orchestra at the Ritter van Köchel – Musikschule in Krems.
